Summary:
"The prestigious journal “Zeitschrift für Sprachwissenschaft – Journal of the Linguistic Society of Germany” is now Diamond Open Access and welcomes new submissions.
The Linguistic Society of Germany, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sprachwissenschaft (DGfS), was founded in 1978. It is the leading professional association for individual academic linguists and linguistic institutions in Germany. The DGfS has more than 1,100 members within and outside Germany. Most of these work at universities and scientific institutes.
The Zeitschrift für Sprachwissenschaft (ZS), founded in 1982, is the flagship journal of the DGfS. The aim of the journal is to promote linguistic research by publishing peer-reviewed, high-quality contributions and thematic special issues from all fields and trends of modern linguistics submitted by members and non-members of the society. In the Scimago Journal Rank, for example, the journal has been consistently in the Q2 and Q1 range for the last 7 years.
The new Diamond OA journal is published by PubliKon (University of Konstanz, Germany) and has left its previous home at de Gruyter at the end of 2024. The decision to become Diamond OA was made some time ago at the General Assembly of the DGfS. Since then, the ZS editorial team has been working on the relaunch in consultation with the DGfS executive board...."
