India’s ‘One Nation’ publishing agreement is transformational — but beware inequities

"More steps are needed to fully realize the agreement’s transformative power. Elite institutions in India have robust digital infrastructure and research training, but many smaller institutions lack Internet connectivity, dedicated e-mail access and research mentorship capacity. To avoid ONOS mainly benefiting institutions that are already at an advantage, India’s Ministry of Education and Department of Science and Technology should redouble efforts to prioritize upgrades to digital infrastructure and research training across lower-tier institutions."
