Summary:
"On 10 February 2025, the CoARA Working Group on Open Infrastructures for Responsible Research Assessment (WG OI4RRA) launched a public call for feedback on the draft framework for leveraging Open Infrastructures (OI) for responsible research assessment. The framework outlines the key principles, characteristics, technical requirements, as well as governance necessary for creating or transitioning to OI that effectively support fair, transparent, and inclusive research assessment. Such OI are integral to scientific progress by broadening research assessment practices to include the full range of scholarly contributions to knowledge, policy, and society. OI4RRA’s framework lays the foundation for achieving a shift from closed, proprietary infrastructures favoured by traditional evaluation models to OI that are transparent, community-governed, and interoperable, and therefore, better suited to transparent, inclusive, and holistic research assessment.
As part of the public consultation on the framework and guiding principles for OIs that can support a fair and future-proof research assessment ecosystem, WG OI4RRA invites the CoARA, and wider research, community to join an interactive webinar, hosted by Natalia Manola (WG OI4RRA Co-Chair and CEO of OpenAIRE) and Iryna Kuchma (Subgroup 1 Leader and Open Access Programme Manager at EIFL). During the webinar, we will present the key components of the framework, and facilitate discussions among the participates on the challenges and opportunities for building/transitioning to open infrastructures for responsible research assessment, thereby ensuring that the framework is as representative of the needs/resources/concerns of the wider CoARA community as possible.
Ιn order to better accommodate colleagues across different time zones, we are hosting this webinar across two identical sessions. You can attend either one by registering for the Zoom meeting below. ..."
