Diamond OA: BMBF projects bring fair and free open access to the point

Summary:
"Diamond Open Access (DOA), i.e. publications without fees for readers and authors ( see definition of the DIAMAS consortium ), are crucial for sustainable and fair access to scientific research. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) takes this into account with the " Guideline for the funding of projects to establish a living open access culture in German research and scientific practice ".
On October 24, 2024, six projects in this funding line organized a " flashlight " on the occasion of the International Open Access Week 2024 to present their interim results and further raise awareness of the important concerns of Diamond Open Access. KOALA-AV, Diamond Thinking, OLEKonsort, edu_consort_oa, DiamOnd@HsH and ELADOAH were present, and with their different approaches they were able to offer a good insight into the diversity of the Diamond Open Access landscape in Germany...."
