From Google's English:  The Berlin University Alliance – BUA for short – is the first and only excellence alliance in Germany to be funded by the German Research Foundation as part of the Excellence Strategy. Since November 1, 2019, Humboldt University has been working closely with the Free University of Berlin, the Technical University of Berlin and the Charité – Universitätsmedizin to shape Berlin as an OPEN KNOWLEDGE LABORATORY and to advance cutting-edge research.

Across all disciplines, the network partners work to solve the major social challenges of our time, expand the exchange between science and society, promote talent, ensure the quality of research, make research infrastructure accessible and strengthen cross-cutting issues such as teaching, diversity, equal opportunities and internationalization.

On the occasion of the BUA's fifth anniversary, we would like to use #WeAreBUA to highlight the successes of this ambitious and unique project. We would like to provide insights, present facts and figures, and show the faces and content behind this major project. What exactly does excellent research look like? What pressing questions are the researchers working on? And how does the excellence network enrich the research landscape, but also civil society in Berlin?"
