How OA.Report measures Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s OA policy compliance using ROR IDs

Summary:

"Late last year, I sat down with our friends at the Research Organization Registry (ROR) and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) to discuss how OA.Report uses ROR IDs to support HHMI with OA policy compliance checking....

This was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the critical role and success of ROR IDs and persistent identifiers (PIDs) in general. OA.Report spends a lot of time collecting and cleaning data where persistent identifiers aren't used, which is still necessary today, but we don't want it to be forever. That means we’re always looking for ways to support the adoption of PIDs. Last year, we added features to OA.Report so users can track how PIDs are used and identify areas for improvement. This year, we’ve built tools that make it easier for funders to create grant DOIs. Today, we are celebrating their success."
