Summary:

"The ORB Project Library is a community-driven resource cataloging and connecting organizations and individuals who develop products and services for open and collaborative research. It is an initiative of the nonprofit organization Incentivizing Collaborative and Open Research (ICOR) originally launched as a pilot in 2023 with the aim of assembling an up-to-date set of solutions addressing open policies, tools and practices.

Since then, with over 100 organizations described, and with generous funding from SPARC, the library now operates on a more robust platform to accommodate, connect, and update a growing number of remarkable initiatives. To signify the newly launched platform and an amplified comprehensive, global initiative, the service carries the brand of Open Research Beacon. The ORB Project Library shines a light on project owners' offerings, as they submit and update their goals, deliverables, progress, and needs to advance their agendas.

Projects cover a wide range of topics - e.g., refining persistent identifiers and data repositories, testing new models and policies in real time, approaches to team science, and ways to measure effectiveness of open practices. As community efforts expand, the Library will capture more metadata about them to assist funders, collaborators, publishers, advocates, and policymakers in their understanding of how the open science landscape promotes collaborative research."
