Summary:
"The USRN Discovery Pilot Project's goal was to enable better discovery and tracking of articles in US repositories by utilising the CORE (core.ac.uk) services. This was to be achieved by ensuring the comprehensive indexing of metadata and full texts of articles deposited in US repositories, allowing them to be findable through a centralised discovery service - and with prominent links back to the original full text of the repository. The project’s plan involved working with the CORE platform and a subset of US repositories, to promote and facilitate the adoption of best practices needed to ensure research articles are identified and included in the CORE index.
CORE provides a Dashboard service for participating institutions, facilitating the adoption of best discoverability practices. These include, for example, tools to check repository OAI-PMH configuration, metadata compliance and other relevant FAIR and USRN desirable characteristics of repositories."
