CoARA Action Plan by the Helmholtz Open Science Office

Abstract:  In February 2025, the Helmholtz Open Science Office signed the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment and joined the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA). This Action Plan describes the role of the Helmholtz Open Science Office in promoting the openness, quality, and impact of research within the Helmholtz Association and shaping the framework conditions that enable this. The Action Plan provides an overview of interplay between open science and research assessment reforms, followed by a description of the status quo and planned activities for 2026 to 2030 based on the ten commitments of the the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment.
