Launch of the AEGIS-OA Project - SPARC Europe

"We are proud to announce the launch of AEGIS-OA, a two-year project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe call “Enhancing the European R&I system.” This initiative aims to build a high-quality, non-profit scholarly publishing ecosystem by expanding the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) to include books and instrumentalising the Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS).

As one of 13 core partners in a 24-organisation consortium led by OPERAS, SPARC Europe will continue its mission to strengthen Diamond OA in Europe. Focusing on capacity building, our work will contribute to the development of essential skills and competences for the sector. From building on and updating sustainability resources from the DIAMAS project to advising on a new Diamond OA Open Educational Resources (OER) service to driving more non-profit publishing collaboration across Europe. These efforts aim to empower publishing professionals and ensure that educational materials are as accessible and integrated as the research they support, providing direct benefits to editors, authors, and society at large."
