Summary:
Abstract: Open Access (OA) advocates are increasingly recognizing that the Article Processing Charge (APC)-based model should be overcome to develop alternative solutions capable of enabling the full and definitive establishment of OA in scholarly publishing. The Diamond OA model is seen as one of the possible solutions even if the journals using this model must cope with sustainability problems along with visibility issues. With the aim of assessing its current use among the Library and Information Science (LIS) Diamond OA journals, this study analyses their presence in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
