From Google's English:  This presentation serves as the basis for the information event "Shaping the Future – Open Access Scenarios and Financial Development Prospects," hosted on June 11, 2026, by the DFG-funded project "Open Access Scenario Analyses" (OASA). The transition to Open Access presents research institutions, their libraries, and their administrative bodies with increasingly complex challenges, particularly regarding funding, cost models, and organizational decision-making processes. The OASA project addresses precisely these challenges. Through a systematic scenario analysis, the project examines current funding and organizational structures associated with the OA transition, models future financial developments, and assesses their potential impact on the German research landscape. The aim is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities, challenges, and risks involved in the ongoing OA transition—and to derive practical recommendations for institutions and their libraries. The information event focuses on the project's first work package, which involves systematic and standardized data collection, aggregation, and analysis. The goal is to establish a robust data foundation for evaluating transition activities and developing realistic scenarios. A data collection concept defines the scope of data gathering based on illustrative scenarios and cost projections. The presentation outlines the project and its objectives, as well as the procedure for data submission.
