European Rights Retention Community of Practice - October 2026

"The European Rights Retention Community of Practice (CoP) brings together experts and practitioners across Europe to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and advance rights retention strategies.

For our 11th meeting, we are pleased to welcome institutional case studies from Northern and Southern Europe. Aysa Ekanger and Bror-Magnus S. Strand from UiT The Arctic University of Norway—one of Northern Europe's early adopters—and Ignasi Labastida from the University of Barcelona, a recent leader in Southern Europe, will present their institutional processes and progress in adopting rights retention policies. Following the presentations, we will share key updates on the Rights Retention in Practice task force's work. We then invite community members to share their own experiences, highlight ongoing challenges, and collaborate on practical solutions.
