Summary:

"The OAPEN Foundation is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Max Planck Society (MPG) to build a dedicated collection of open access books funded by more than 80 Max Planck Institutes (MPIs) and research facilities.

The Institutes and research facilities range in expertise, from natural and life sciences to the humanities. The collection will provide MPG with comprehensive oversight of open access books funded by its institutes or centrally via the Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL). Max Planck-affiliated authors will also benefit from increased dissemination of their open access books.

The partnership marks an important step in extending OAPEN’s collection services beyond research funders to support research institutions, helping them to gain greater oversight of their open access book outputs and funded publishing activities.

It also reflects the shared commitment of OAPEN and MPG to strengthening the visibility, discoverability, and long-term accessibility of open access books within the wider open science ecosystem, in Germany and beyond."
