Summary:

"As part of a project funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and led by the Book Industry Study Group (BISG), researchers from the University of Michigan, University of North Texas, the Educopia Institute, and KU Research are seeking community input. We are interested in how best to resolve a key challenge inhibiting the growth of open access ebook publishing; the lack of reliable usage data and obstacles to collecting and sharing that data. KU Research has prepared a draft white paper outlining the issues and proposing the development of a trusted framework for coordinating open access ebook usage data.

After reading the white paper, please complete this short survey. Your responses to the survey will only be available to the project team and any information shared will not identify the author. An overview of community reactions will be discussed at a summit of open access ebook aggregators and platform providers, standards providers, librarians, and publishers who will meet in New York in early December. The project team will prepare a revised, final version of the white paper which will be issued in spring 2019, providing recommendations for next steps...."
