Connotea Imports 2012-05-05

Summary:

An anthology edited by Ulrich Herb, available in an OA and TA-print edition. The abstract in Google's English: "Initiatives, transparency, open and as easy access to information, such as academic and administrative demand and create win rapidly in importance and begin to differentiate into more and more. The claims range from free (within the meaning of free) access to information, to open access principles analogous to the open source community. Some initiatives and phenomena focus more on transparency and openness, combined, such as the whistleblower Wikileaks, while still others (eg, open government and open access to research data), the demands for transparency and openness, or try on the provision of non-proprietary information (such as the geospatial project OpenStreetMap or the Open Metrics concepts in science, context). Twelve authors from open data projects and in the areas of open access, describe Open Science, journalism and law and analyze the said and other open Initiatives discuss their similarities and limitations as well as radical concepts such as openness and WikiLeaks Anonymous."
