SPARC statement in support of the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR)

"SPARC and COAR share a common view that there are significant benefits for researchers and society to improving the visibility, dissemination, and reuse of research results. One way of achieving this is through the implementation of Open Access repositories. These repositories, when interoperable, form the basis of a global network of open access content. SPARC supports the aims and activities of COAR which include: [1] Implementing digital repositories and populating them with content, [2] Promoting Open Access policies and mandates, [3] Collaborating on the development of international interoperability guidelines for repositories, [4] Supporting regional and national repository initiatives...."
