Summary:

"In a short film – made for Open Access week 2010 - Dr. Appy Sluijs talks about his experiences with Open Access. Appy Sluijs is a researcher at Utrecht University, and member of the Young Academy of the KNAW (Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences). He received a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant for his project....For this project, Sluijs must make his publications, as well as his data, freely available online in accordance with the ERC Guidelines for Open Access. He believes that this is the only way to achieve transparency and reuse of science. In his opinion this is actually something researchers should want themselves, without having to be forced to do this by the ERC...."
