WSU Libraries reports a rise in journal usage

"In the last 12 months, [Washington State University] authors published 27 articles on the BioMed Central platform, an open access publisher. Five articles were viewed more than 2,000 times and four have been designated “highly accessed.” WSU Libraries’ BioMed Central Supporter membership provides a 15 percent discount on publication fees for WSU authors. Publication and citing of all open access journals has been analyzed: [1] WSU authors published 120 articles in 48 open access journals. The top four journals were BMC Genomics; International Journal of Biological Sciences; Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics; and Journal of Insect Science. [2] WSU authors cited 1,747 articles in 78 open access journals. The top four cited journals were Nucleic Acids Research; Environmental Health Perspectives: EHP New Series; BMC Genomics; and Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics...."
