Better access to evidence: more succinct BMJ research articles in print, full open access publication online

Summary:

Note that BMJ is reversing the model in which a TA print journal contains full-text and its OA edition an abridgement. A BMJ survey shows that users are more likely to read the TA edition if it contains just one-page summaries of full articles. (PS: If more publishers decide that intelligent abridgment is added value, then full-text OA would be home free.)
