"This 4-day course provides tribal emergency management, tribal community planners, tribal government employees, and tribal leaders with an understanding of mitigation opportunities and techniques, the mitigation planning process, examples of mitigation success stories to reduce future losses from natural or other hazards, and an overview of available FEMA Mitigation Programs. Primary emphasis is on helping tribal emergency managers and planners identify mitigation planning requirements and identifying mitigation opportunities to protect their communities." […] The goal of this course is to "give Tribal governments a foundation for reducing or preventing potential losses from natural or other hazards."
