Hurricane Preparedness Webinar May 21, 2013, 3:00 pm EDT

"Hurricanes can cause catastrophic damage not just to coastlines, but also several hundred miles inland. Hurricanes can produce winds exceeding 155 miles, tornado outbreaks and severe flooding. Know how to be ready. Know how to be prepared. As a lead-in to National Hurricane Week (May 26 to June 1), FEMA will be hosting a free webinar featuring FEMA's Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO), Michael F. Byrne, who will discuss hurricane preparedness lessons from Superstorm Sandy. Local emergency response personnel will also present innovative ways and promising practices to engage coastal and inland communities in hurricane preparedness activities. These speakers will highlight effective local preparedness initiatives."
