Flood Risk Management Mentoring Session

Summary:
The National Association of Flood and Stormwater Management Agencies (NAFSMA) is pleased to announce a special one-day Agency to Agency Flood Risk Management Mentoring Session at the Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago on November 9, 2012.
A total of 6 core continuing education units for Certified Floodplain Management will be available for participants in the meeting which is sponsored by NAFSMA, in cooperation with the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), the Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (IAFSM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The registration fee for the November 9 session, which includes lunch and a continental breakfast is $100.
Key topics to be covered in the one-day session include: Update on Risk MAP and reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program Information exchange on the importance of outreach and communication in flood risk management and doing what we teach Cooperating Technical Partners Lessons Learned The Community Rating System and How It Can Be Helpful to Your Community Local Programmatic and Other Issues FEMA’s Levee Analysis Mapping Program Initiative – Map Status – Hope to Keep Your Maps Moving Update on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works Transformation Initiative and What It Means to Non-Federal Partners Update on Great Lakes Coastal Mapping and Other Issues’
