The Senate and House have released a series of bills related to border security. Although they address many of the same issues, the Senate Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 (S. 744) is a comprehensive act covering a range of immigration issues, including border security, infrastructure improvements, detention and apprehension practices, overstays, reforms to visa programs, and reforms to non-immigrant programs.

On the other hand, bills marked up in the House Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees include the Agricultural Guestworker Act, the Border Security Results Act, the SAFE Act, the Legal Workforce Act, and the SKILLS Visa Act. Each of these acts plays a different role in immigration reform, ranging from reforms to visa programs to improvements in detention and apprehension practices.
