Homeland Security Digital Library Blog 2012-12-14
Summary:
Every year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) gears up to track Santa Claus on his yearly adventure to deliver presents around the world.
Starting on December 24th, NORAD follows Santa's whereabouts to make sure he completes his trip safely. By following the infrared signature in Rudolph's nose, they're able to pinpoint Santa's position using satellite tracking. NORAD scrambles fighter pilots to escort him across Canada and the United States.
