Poweshiek CARES will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13 at the Drake Community Library (930 Park Street, Grinnell). The tentative agenda:

• A Facebook page for CARES
• Non-profit status
• Poster
• Work plan to educate the legislature

This issue of large corporate hog confinements is huge. It affects our air and water quality, our food quality, our property values and tax base, our community economy's stagnation, our antibiotic resistant bacteria disease rate, our top soil environment destruction.

We have to set our minds to the fact that this is a long-term fight and we must keep moving forward ...
