Evolution, not Displacement?

Summary:
John Scalzi, writer and reader himself as well as parent to an avid-reading electronically minded child, has an interesting blog up on the notion that e-books and e-readers are not going to displace physical books. Each has its value, and that value continues to be felt by younger generations who "grow up digital". Some things are better on or with readers - Scalzi notes that he prefers magazines and comics this way - but I don't think wholesale displacement is likely for at least another generation.
