Karen Gogins '13 joins Citizen for a Healthy Bay as Outreach Coordinator

Karen Gogins, Outreach & Education Project Coordinator

Karen, a native Minnesotan, recently graduated from Grinnell College with a degree in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. While at Grinnell, she worked as an Environmental Coordinator for the college's residence halls, served on the Student Environmental Committee, and volunteered as a water quality monitor for the Iowa DNR. Karen also played college basketball, and spent summers as a camp counselor and nature specialist. Her passion for water issues was sparked during a semester abroad in Tanzania where she conducted her own independent research regarding the drought's impacts on the Maasai tribe.

Karen is excited to join the team at CHB through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps. She is enthusiastic about and committed to CHB's mission of protecting and preserving our natural environment.
