With Donald Trump's election, I join many in thinking about ways in which we can donate to organizations that will counteract the anticipated effects of his presidency.

One of the ways I want to do my part is in supporting the Committee to Protect Journalists. They do amazing, vital work protecting the rights, freedom and lives of journalists (including cartoonists) around the world, and stand ready to do so in the United States.

I believe that promoting a free press is one of the most effective ways to help the citizens of repressive nations, by exposing corruption, government malfeasance and war crimes.

And unfortunately, under the Trump administration, I believe the fight for a free press in the United States is going to enter one of its most challenging and dangerous chapters in history.
