Unnecessary complications

Last year, I wrote about comorbidities, explaining why it is silly to work yourself over the issue of "with Covid" versus "of Covid".

CNN yesterday reported the cause of death for Sidney Poitier as heart failure.

CNN also reported that Poitier has comorbidities, namely, Alzheimer's and cancer. So they got the headline wrong! It should have read:

I know that sounds absurd. But this is exactly what one reaps if one sows the seed of claiming that someone with comorbidities died with Covid19 rather than of Covid19.

This type of thinking rounds up anyone with multiple conditions as having indeterminate cause of death since each condition is a comorbidity of the other conditions.
