Starting a new venture: Bryan Alexander Consulting

Bryan Alexander 2013-06-12

Today is the beginning of new venture, as I launch Bryan Alexander Consulting.

Bryan introduces a new thiAs you might expect, this is a consulting enterprise.  BAC focuses on how technology transforms education.  To help people and institutions cope with and strategize this transition I perform a variety of services: presentations, speeches, workshops, meeting facilitating, futures exercises, webinars, white papers, reports, guides, all sorts of digital activities, and still more to come (here’s a hint).  You can find information about BAC services here.

Being futures-oriented, BAC work involves a great deal of continuous research, which my blogging on this very page reflects.  I share my thoughts and discoveries here, discussing topics with commentators and respondents, like a Web-based, real-time think tank.  That isn’t typical consulting practice, but I’m doing things a little differently.  This work will live on the open Web as far as people let me, here and elsewhere.

Launching this represents a huge change in my life.  BAC is now my more-than-full-time job.  And yet some things won’t alter as much.  I still live in Vermont and work from my home office, traveling frequently. I continue to serve as one of the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE) Fellows.  I continue my decades of work with liberal arts colleges, but now expand to engage with all of higher education.

Still, this is a big shift.  I’ve worked with NITLE for more than a decade.  Before that, I was a college professor.  Now… I’m inventing a new path forward, mixing together the skills and knowledge I’ve developed into a different form.  Call it a project, or an experiment, a 21st-century endeavor, or simply the enterprise upon which I now stake my career.

BAC already has a roster of clients, a wide-ranging schedule of speaking engagements, and publications in the pipeline, but I’m very glad to hear from you.  Use the comment box below or click to this private contact form to share your reactions, advice, requests, and expressions of interest.

Onward!
