A disclaimer about the New Media Consortium and myself

I am writing this post after numerous public and private conversations, including some with lawyers.

To be completely clear, in case it’s not:

• I do not work for the New Media Consortium.  I am an independent actor, unaffiliated with NMC, and running my own small business.
• In the past I have had several contract relationships with NMC, both paid and unpaid. Those all finished some time ago.
• I do not speak or pretend to speak on behalf of NMC.

In the future I will link to this post for the benefit of people who have questions.  It is also intended for those who don’t understand my relationship with NMC, or who mischaracterize it.  I may edit it to add further clarifications, should people request them.
