The Changing Scholarly Communications Ecosystem.

This event is part of the Oxford Interdisciplinary Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership’s “Data Management, Data Analysis and Statistics” foundation module, and is open to all University post-docs and other researchers. I will also share some of my experiences transitioning from an immunology lab to managing a data curation team and dealing with big data. 11.00-11.45: Publishing Better Science through Better Data – focus on life sciences (Susanna-Assunta Sansone) Role of publishers in data reproducibility, introducing Scientific Data ; importance of data curation; complementary of and links between data journals and community databases; lessons learned. 11.45-12.30: Beyond Open Access Publishing (Thomas Ingraham) Open science publishing (open data, open source, open peer review, open projects), ‘living’ publications and accelerating access to research findings.
