"In March 2013, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two mayors, Bertrand Delanoë and Edwin M. Lee, to support research programs on the digital economy and smart cities. These cities chose to support Inria (French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control) and CITRIS (Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society, University of California) to carry out joint research on smart cities. The two research centers are leading a joint project on « Democratizing Urban Data for Healthy Cities ». Following this agreement, PRIME has become a partner of Inria and CITRIS to support their collaborative programs on smart cities. This benchmark on « Open Data & the city: a democratization of urban data » is a non-exhaustive survey on innovativecompanies, initiatives and ideas covering California and the Paris Region with a focus on open data for noise, air pollution and transportation applications ..."
