Summary:

"Approximately 38 members of the HEI Open Access community attended the first user engagement workshop for the Jisc Monitor project in London on 8 July 2014. The workshop undertook intensive work to critique an initial listing of ‘user stories’ – actions and requirements – on which institutions are looking for help in implementing open access publication policy in relation to the first two use cases that the project is tackling – monitoring publications and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. These user stories were derived from activity which led up to the Jisc Monitor project and from allied work, including the OA Pathfinder projects. Participants scrutinised the user stories for their accuracy, reviewed judgements as to whether or not they fell within the scope of what Jisc Monitor can deliver, and suggested more requirements and possible data sources. A series of webinars will enable participants, as well as anyone interested who couldn’t make the meeting, to review and contribute to the development work based on these stories and requirements as it unfolds. A copy of the spreadsheet can be downloaded here: Copy of 140703 Monitor user stories v4. If you have any comments to add please contact Frank Manista: Frank.Manista@manchester.ac.uk ..."
