What Are Firms Using? GenAI Adoption Study & Data Extraction

LegalTech Hub: “In a recent survey that Legaltech Hub (LTH) delivered with the organizing committee for the Strategic Knowledge and Innovation Legal Leaders Summit (SKILLS), 100 top-tier firms responded to a series of questions about which generative AI (GenAI) technologies they were actively using, what they were piloting, and which technologies they were considering licensing in the future (the 2025 LTH-SKILLS survey). Though heavily weighted towards the United States, with 70 American firms responding, participants also included eight Canadian firms, nine firms from the United Kingdom, and 13 firms from other countries.  The survey covered 22 use cases for GenAI in legal and 180 solutions, revealing key trends in usage and adoption. On average, firms had 18 GenAI solutions currently live, six in pilot stages, and were considering 22 other generative AI products—either to replace existing solutions or to add to their stack. Each week for the next 11 weeks, SKILLS and LTH will release the results for two categories of technology: one on Monday and one on Thursday.
