Report Shows That Prison Education Reduces Recidivism

Summary:

"Evaluating the Effectiveness of Correctional Education: A Meta-Analysis of Programs That Provide Education to Incarcerated Adults," funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, shows that correctional education reduces postrelease recidivism and does so cost-effectively. This bulletin also finds that correctional education may increase postrelease employment.
