More on figurative language around big data — I find this piece unsatisfying because, in asking us to make more distinctions among kinds of data (and to tune our metaphors accordingly), it misses what is for me a key piece of the puzzle: the data we’re talking about is networked, and ​_convergence_​ among types of data is a hallmark of this networked reality. -sy
