Earlier this summer, New York Times writer Maureen Dowd ate edibles in her hotel room in Colorado and found herself "curled up in a hallucinatory state for the next eight hours," so high that she "thought she was dead." She documented the experience in a column that the internet ate up.

Now it looks like she has another fan: The Marijuana Policy Project, an organization working for marijuana policy reform in the United States, has released a new ad campaign that clearly pokes fun at the now-infamous Dowd column. The billboard features a red-headed Dowd look-alike sitting alone in a hotel room, and the phrase: "Don't let a candy bar ruin your vacation."

The ad will appear on a billboard in Denver, Colorado, the Washington Examiner reports, and on the organization's website. While some think the campaign is making fun of Dowd's edible escapades, the columnist doesn't have an issue with the billboard.

"I I love it," Dowd told BuzzFeed News in an email. "I'm going to make it my Christmas card."

Then she added, "But some of my friends have pointed out that the hotel room looks way too tidy."

The Marijuana Policy Project has not yet returned BuzzFeed's request for comment.
