Abstract
The article focuses on a report which provides an overview of the gig economy and identifies legal questions relevant to its workforce. Topics include gig economy as the collection of markets that match providers to consumers on a job basis in support of on-demand commerce, collection of data on the number and characteristics of contingent workers, alternative employment arrangements, and self-employed from U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, and protections and benefits for gig workers.
