Musica Ficta

New Ideas : Sibelius Feedback Community 2016-07-01

Summary:

Currently, to notate 'musica ficta' (an editorial accidental displayed above a note in renaissance music) you need to use an accidental from the symbols menu, with often a need to reposition it into the correct position yourself. It is then merely a symbol, and will not react when transposing a passage like a normal accidental would (e.g. changing from a sharp to a natural, when moving from a 'sharp' key into a 'flat' key). This is a request for native 'musica ficta' accidentals that would be automatically positioned above notes and would transpose and otherwise behave like normal accidentals would.
