System Text Objects "Align in a Row" incorrectly

New Ideas : Sibelius Feedback Community 2016-09-03

Summary:

Note-attached System Text Objects (such as Tempo text) respond to "Align in a Row" by moving to a position 5 spaces higher than they should be for horizontal alignment with their other partners in the Align command. This has been tested with the other partner in the Align command being: Staff Text, System Symbols, Staff Symbols, and Staff Lines, all with consistent results: Note-attached System Text Objects are the odd men out, being 5 spaces too high relative to any of the others. All the other classes of object tested will "Align in a Row" correctly with each other. The figure of "5 spaces" above is in fact the setting of "Vertical position relative to staff" in "Default Positions" -> "Text Styles" -> the class of System Text (e.g. Tempo) PLUS 2 spaces. The Sibelius default vertical position for System Text is 3 spaces above the top of the staff, leading to the 5 space error observed in "Align in a Row". Magnetic Layout is not a factor in this issue. This issue has been tested to be present back in Sibelius 5.
