Default increase or decrease in dynamic associated with hairpin

New Ideas : Sibelius Feedback Community 2017-01-11

Summary:

Feature suggestion/request for score playback - for any hairpin (crescendo or decrescendo) have a default amount of increase or decrease in volume, say one dynamic level. Volume would then reset to its previous level (before the hairpin) upon the release of the note that corresponds to the end of the hairpin. It's very common in pop and jazz notation to include crescendi and decrescendi under longer notes and placing dynamics in the score for each instance quickly clutters the appearance. Currently, if there is no ending dynamic marking, the hairpin is apparently ignored in playback. The workaround is to fill the score with dynamic markings and then much time is spent going back and hiding all the visually unnecessary ones.
