Mute Notes/Selection

I would like to be able to quickly mute a selection. I realize you could go into inspector and unselect 1st time playback but its a bit cumbersome and also then there is no visual indication that the section has been muted. So perhaps something like: select a few bars, hit the mute notes button or Ctrl-M, and then the music turns grey (or hidden) and the notes do not playback. Hitting the button again unmutes the section.
