Feral Copyright Roundtables!

metaLAB (at) Harvard 2012-07-19

This summer, metaLAB has started to explore what people talk about when they talk about copyright. Working with colleagues at the Berkman Center, we’re charting the vast territory between the law, the courts, and the challenges people face in the world when they decide how to make, share, and consume art and ideas online—and beyond.

And we’d like your help. The Feral Copyright project would like to invite you to come and share your experiences with creating, licensing, and using creative content. We’ll be engaging in general discussion about these issues, as well as requesting some feedback on some of the ways we plan to reach out and capture copyright wherever it lurks. Refreshments — beer/wine, soda, and munchies! — will be provided.

There are different times for different categories of content creators—we’re encouraging people to self-identify and mix it up with the cohort of their choice.

THIS WEEK: General Internet Users: Friday, July 20, 6:00-8:00pm

NEXT WEEK: Writers/Scholars: Tuesday, July 24, 6:00-8:00pm Artists/Musicians: Wednesday, July 25, 6:00-8:00pm Programmers: Thursday, July 26, 6:00-8:00pm Documentarians: Friday, July 27, 6:00-8:00pm

We look forward to fun and stimulating dialogues on territories dear to us all: intellectual property, the commons, and creativity. Please join us in the exploration! And don’t forget to RSVP (send word to info (at) metalab.harvard.edu).
