"The Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services ( SCOSS ) is a network of institutions committed to securing the future of open access.

Each year, the coalition will invite non-commercial open access / open science services to submit a request for SCOSS-coordinated funding. The SCOSS Board of Directors will rigorously evaluate the candidates.

The services deemed eligible will be proposed by the coalition to the entire community, in a similar way to crowdfunding. This temporary funding is intended to support OA / OS service providers to build a stronger financial base.

The first coalition newsletter is available online ."
