The Science in Parliament and the Congress of Deputies initiative will hold a two-day meeting on 6 and 7 November this year where the political and scientific communities will debate how science can help in political decision-making. Specifically, 12 topics of great social interest (climate change, ageing, etc.) and how scientific knowledge can be useful for the legislature will be discussed.

In order to prepare the scientific community to make itself available to all the parliamentary groups and to prepare the necessary information for the meetings they will hold with the members of parliament, #CienciaenelParlamento organized on July 4 and 5 the preparatory days "Scientific and technological advice to the legislative branch" at the National Museum of Science and Technology (MUNCYT), with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT). In these days, the participants were trained to carry out the work of scientific advice technicians receiving a series of seminars given by scientific advice professionals at local, national and international levels and participating in various workshops to develop skills in both identification and preparation of evidence and communication with politicians.
