Director of Publications Job Opening in Rockville, Maryland - Society for Scholarly Publishing

"The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) is searching for a Director of Publications (DP). The DP is responsible for the oversight and management of the two peer-reviewed research journals owned and published by AAI, The Journal of Immunology (The JI) and ImmunoHorizons (IH). The JI, started in 1916, is the largest and most highly cited journal in the field. IH is an open access, online-only, and fully peer -reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the knowledge of immunology. The DP reports to the Executive Director (ED) who is also the Executive Editor. The DP will also work closely with the Director of Finance, the Editors-in Chief (EICs), and the Chair of the AAI Publications Committee to: 1) establish the strategic direction of the publications programs, 2) advise on publication policies to be recommended by the Publications Committee and approved by the Council, and 3) be knowledgeable of and advise on new technologies, systems, and journal features. The DP collaborates with the ED and other senior staff members on operational planning and decisions.
