Donut Squad

When my book Oligomorphic Permutation Groups was published in the London Mathematical Society Lecture Note series, with illustations by Neill Cameron, it was reviewed by Peter Neumann, who wrote,

Augustus De Morgan, co-founder and first president of the LMS, was eclipsed late last century by his artist and writer son William. History may repeat itself.

I am pleased to say that this prediction looks like coming true. Neill’s latest book, in his Donut Squad series, is shortlisted for both Waterstones’ Book of the Year, and Blackwell’s Children’s Book of the Year.

Nobody (except, probably, Neill) will be more delighted than I if he wins.
