Combinatorics and more 2025-05-26

With members of the discrete geometry seminar in Prague.

  1. The 2025 Colloquia in Combinatorics took place in QMUL and UCL, 7 and 8 May 2025. 2025 is the 18th year of the Colloquia in Combinatorics, and like every year, the 2025 Colloquia feature twelve talks covering a wide range of topics. This year I was one of the speakers and enjoyed the event and the short visit to London. I talked about combinatorics and social choice theory. (Slides: social-choice25.)
  2. During the same week, an impressive birthday conference for Joseph Bernstein was held in Israel focusing on Representation Theory and Algebraic Geometry.
  3. Last week I spent a few eventful days in Prague with a blend of quantum computing, discrete geometry, discussions on the organization of science, lectures on AI from statistical physics perspectives, a moving lecture on Picasso, and the pleasure of reconnecting with many friends.
  4. At the same week in Tel Aviv, an impressive birthday party took place for Zeev Rudnick, centered on Number Theory, Quantum Chaos and their Interfaces.
  5. Looking ahead, next month will feature another exciting event: a birthday conference for Jeff Steif titled “Probability Theory in Gothenburg”.
